Alison Hixon’s upcoming solo show, and the world is mine, at Susan Eddings Perez Gallery and Studio expresses her inner most vulnerable thoughts, ideas, and memories of past present and future. A call to action on her own life to harness the power to create her own destiny. Hixon pulls the viewer in to see that every small detail in life can lead to larger experiences. To believe in oneself is the ultimate test. Hixon drives the viewer with her work to not only question how they exist in the world but to encourage them to go within the deepest corners of themselves and to make the most of this life. The world is yours. And the world is mine. 

Alison Hixon is a surrealism artist living and working in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She is best known for her detailed large scale watercolor mixed media paintings and stained glass illustrations. After receiving her BFA at Stephens College in Columbia, MO she lived and worked in Chicago as an actor in theatre and film. Her visual work is a colorful commentary on her journey through life which channel themes of self-identity, sexuality, coming of age, and the emotional turmoils of being a woman. She was recently mentioned in Vogue as an artist not to miss on Canyon Road in Santa Fe.
